Akhil & Jeff
As a musician I have always loved trying new things, trying new styles, new instruments and writing music with many styles and topics. This musical journey, “Nada Mandala” takes us deep within to a relaxing place to heal the past and bloom the future. As my friend Eski said “music mirrors the moods of its makers”., Well this CD mirrors the deeper meditative part of me and my co-artist Akhilanka. We did this live, no retakes or overdubs, just Akhil playing the Tibetan singing bowls and me on bamboo and Native American style flutes.
Ahkil and I met at one of my Drums for Peace drum circles a few years ago. We found we had a lot in common and this past summer he visited again from his Temple of Singing Bowls in Mysore, India. We did a few concerts together and then recorded this CD on two evenings here in the driftless region of Wisconsin.
Nada means sound and a Mandala is used for focusing one’s intention and connecting to the Inner-YOUniverse.
